Purpose of the Job
To manage the Lubricant Field Technical Services portfolio in a manner ensures competitive advantage, sustainability and growth of the Lubricant business.
What you’ll have done before
Baseline
- 10 years’ experience in O&G, Chemicals or other relevant industries with 3 years in providing Technical Support to customers and 3 years in managing teams
- NQF Level 7 (Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related)
Advantageous
- 10 years relevant exp in Lubricants Industry
- 5 years of providing technical support for Lubricants
- 5 years of managing people in a Technical Services/Sales Environment
What you’ll be doing
TECHNICAL SERVICES MANAGEMENT
- Implement a Field Technical Services model for Lubricants and ensure that resources are appropriately allocated to support this model
- Align Field Technical Services to the relevant Marketing & Sales strategies and with the global PLI portfolio including providing support to the other regions where required
FIELD SERVICES
- Ensure availability of technical expertise on product application & equipment technology to customers and the business
- Manage field trials and proof of performance on new products and provide feedback to PLI
- Lead trouble-shooting initiatives around product application and equipment failure in the field
- Ensure Digital/Virtual Field Services are available to support customers were required
CUSTOMER SUPPORT
- Pro-actively support key customers & OEMs through product recommendations, equipment optimization and cost efficiency/reductions
- Assist the Sales & Marketing teams to improve profitability and enhance offerings to customers via technical support, benefit selling and technical training
TECHNICAL ADVISOR DEVELOPMENT
- Develop Technical Advisors that are competent in providing Technical Services to customers locally, and globally if required, through the use of an effective training program
- Develop Technical Advisors to become Trainers through a ‘train the trainer’ approach
- Manage & execute the Technical Ladder/T&IR within the team & align to the broader Petronas framework
LUBRICANT TRAINING
- Manage the development of Training Materials, manuals and associated collaterals based on internal and external stakeholder requirements including customers
- Develop a Training Program for customers, internal staff and all stakeholders and execute this training through an annual calendar
