Essential Skills/Experience:

Education/ Minimum Requirements:

• Honours Degree in Quantity Surveying and PRQS.
• Proficiency in the MS Office suite, and Quantity Surveying Software Packages.

Experience:

• A minimum of 10 years’ technical and practical QS skills in Mining, Minerals, Infrastructure and / Chemical sector.
• 10 year’s additional experience in an EPCM environment.

• Conceptual estimating methods;
• Capacity factored estimating methods;
• Mechanical factored estimating methods;
• Definitive estimating methods, et al.
• Ability to develop or modify a fit for purpose estimating spread-sheet, et al
• Quantitative analysis / Mathematical capability
• Knowledge of contractual risk and contract law
• High level of business understanding
• Excellent written, verbal communication & report writing skills
• Must be adept in the use reporting systems such as DSL, Excel, Word and email
• Able to understand profit and loss calculations and basic business finance
• Must be a very competent writer of business letters and email
• High level skills in interpretation of statutes and legal drafting
• Ability to discuss, draft and present complex contractual, legal and pricing issues is required
• Ability to clearly and concisely communicate ideas and thoughts

Special conditions attached to the job:

• Travelling to sites may be required particularly on key / mega projects in terms of financial / strategic value.
• Once on site, the reporting relationship of the Senior Professional QS shall in terms of the matrix organizational structure be to the Project Organizational Structure. This secondment shall in no way have a material effect on / change the Functional Reporting
