Role purpose:

To manage the Group’s reporting, data governance, and forecasting processes. Ensure that reporting and governance are done efficiently and accurately across the Group. Ensure that the Group’s reporting measures its intended strategy and identifies areas of improvement, concerns, challenges, and opportunities. Enforce a standardized reporting framework for the Group, to enable quick and informed decision making. Ensure standardized definitions across the Group and ensure the highest level of data governance. Prepare exco/board level reporting with key insights to drive decision-making.

Ensure alignment of the Groups strategy to the financial plans of the business. Drive and coordinate the Group’s planning and budget process to ensure alignment with Executive, and board strategy. Manage all stakeholders including Exco and FD/MDs in operations to deliver on plans. Evaluate monthly rolling forecast to drive budget achievement, and efficiency and challenge the status quo. Managing key relationships across the Group is essential.

Your responsibilities will include:

Analysis 
Performance analysis that provides insight into the overall business performance of the Group.
Maintain records of adjustments impacting trends in the business.
Highlight key abnormal trends in monthly reporting to management for management intervention.

Forecasting  
Lead the in-month forecasting process and the monthly performance review process and present the results to management.
Consolidation of inputs, review and ensure compliance to set targets and management communications.

Reporting    
Standardize master reports across the Group and maintain standardization of definitions across the Group.
Support Investor Relations in delivering quarterly analysis and external reporting requirements, aligned with Vodafone views.
Drive reporting that will enable monitoring of strategy and deliver insights into improving action plans and execution.

Budget and LRP 
Lead the LRP and the annual budgeting/forecasting processes.
Co-ordinate target setting process, aligning internal and Vodafone stakeholders and inputs ensuring the execution of group strategy in the financial plans.
Coordinate inputs across all operations to ensure a smooth, complete, and accurate process.

Strategic business cases and special projects 
Interface with the Vodacom Strategy team to ensure that the strategic priorities are supported by Group Finance.
Lead various strategic business cases and special projects to support FP&A decision-making.
Data governance
Responsible for data quality and governance, acting as a central point in the Group for master data, Business intelligence formula, and definitions.
Represent Vodacom on the Global Business Intelligence Forum.

People Leadership   
Manage, develop and coach a team to ensure both delivery and development of the team.
Manage key relationships across the Group, including Exco, FD/MDs in operations, and the Regional Teams from the major shareholder.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

Matric.
CA (S.A.) or equivalent qualification.
Minimum of 10 years experience in a financial role, corporate finance, investment banking, or financial services.
Strong analytical skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills (presentations, report writing, etc.).
Research ability (‘questioning mind’).
Project management.
Team player.

Technical / Professional Expertise
Financial reporting acumen is essential.
Leadership skills and experience in managing teams in a complex and changing/dynamic operating environment.
Attention to detail and quest for accuracy is important.
Self-starter and self-sufficiency are important.
