Your role

Are you an expert at analyzing financial results for an investment banking business?

We’re looking for a Financial Controller to:

Preparation and dissemination of daily revenue reporting to local and global equities management.
Preparation of weekly and monthly management reports for the equities and IB operations functions. The role requires more of an emphasis on in-depth data analysis and value-adding commentaries, rather than pure report generation. The candidate will be fully accountable for accuracy of reports disseminated. Therefore accuracy and timeous execution tasks is also vital.
Pro-active support to front office trading and corporate finance functions to meet their reporting and other finance-related requirements. Regular dialogue with the front office functions will therefore be required.
Preparation of key monthly reconciliations between financial reporting, management reporting and risk management system numbers.
Independently address ad-hoc internal client requests relating to revenue reporting.
Facilitating compliance with the bank’s internal policies and protocols

You’ll be working in the Finance team in South Africa.

Your expertise

Qualified Chartered Accountant (added advantage)
Appropriate finance degree with 3 – 5 years relevant experience
Financial services industry experience would be beneficial but not essential.
Previous accounting system knowledge (preferably SAP and or BDA) is beneficial.
Strong computer literacy required. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel is required.
Strong communication skills.
Know-how to develop a robust set of controls to the financials (cost and revenue) of a global business
Analytical and methodical, with great attention to detail
Excellent communicator who can adapt style to audience
Ability to deliver results within agreed deadlines and with accuracy.
