Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the incumbent will be responsible to support and lead a variety of strategic efforts including playing a pivotal role in building Group and Subsidiary annual long-term strategic plans.

This position is crucial to the Group’s ability to establish its short, medium, and long-term plans in a highly challenging sector.

Qualifications and Experience required

• An honors degree in a relevant business or commerce related field is essential
• A Master’s degree in a relevant business or commerce related field is advantageous
• Solid experience working and reporting to Boards and Committees
• At least 5 years of working experience in a corporate strategy position within a fast-paced and dynamic business environment
• At least 8 years of experience at a senior management level
• Proven track record of interacting with executives in a highly sensitive and collaborative environment to agree on the Group’s strategic direction
• Proven ability to clearly convey information and instructions, which will determine the effectiveness with which strategies are executed across the Group
• Experience in building appropriate and effective networks, locally and Group-wide
• Experience in delivering well-written reports for business leadership
• Extensive experience in the development and implementation of policy

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams in the development of Group-wide operational strategies
• Perform standard analyses such as performance analyses, competitive analyses, market analyses, etc.

Setting Strategy Definition

• Responsible for bringing together crucial pieces of information such as strategic priorities, competitor performance, operational performance, innovations, markets, etc. from various internal and external sources to develop strategic options
• Responsible for spearheading the strategic vision across all fronts of the business
• Manage the development of corporate plans by playing a lead role in all the planning activities performed by the Group
• Establishing and reviewing key strategic priorities and translating them into actionable and tangible plans
• Support the strategic planning process to ensure that this process is timely, focused, and value-adding
• Ensure that the strategic planning process highlights existing business issues, making certain that these issues are thoughtfully addressed by the laid-out plans

Setting the Strategic Planning Framework

• Draft and develop the strategic planning framework to implement across the Group
• Embed strategic planning practice across the Group
• Consult with senior managers on strategic priorities to ensure appropriate consideration of the Group’s goals Effective Project and Programme Management

• Manage the strategic planning process across the Group to ensure key milestones are achieved
• Co-ordinate Group senior managers to ensure all required information is completed on time and to appropriate standard
• Liaise with the Group’s Company Secretary to ensure all Board reporting timelines are achieved Provide advice and support on good practice
