Short Description / Purpose of JobSupport all efforts aimed at the optimisation of the Sasol Group profit across all Business units and value chains by means of optimised Sasol integrated plans (Production, Operations and Sales plans), balanced and enhanced by the use of decision support tools (LP modelling, data analytics, plan visualizations, etc), which culminate in rolling monthly plans and rolling annual plans (Budget)
Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities
Influencing, direct and align plan setting for all South African Business units;
Articulating the trade-off decisions made within the planning environment and contextualising those within the greater Sasol environment;
Leveraging specific value chain knowledge to facilitate abnormal situation resolution;
Supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of the integrated Group Plan by monitoring performance against plan and evaluation of planning effectiveness;
Collaboration with Optimisation teams to embed optimisation opportunities through planning, and conversely to inform Optimisation of areas of potential risk or opportunities;
Supporting and provide direction to Integration & Digital Enablement (Tools and Modelling) in the development of decision support tools (Group LP Model, etc) to ensure relevancy and accuracy;
Supporting Group Finance and OMEs in budgeting and forecasting processes;
Supporting Group Finance in the interpretation of integrated margin and volume impacts;
Leveraging digital and data analytical expertise within Strategy and planning (Integration & Digital Enablement) and the wider Sasol in planning and performance evaluation work, including:
enhancing the integrity, consistency and accessibility of P&O data on appropriate platforms, using automated data interfaces with minimal manual data validation; applying fit-for-purpose data analytics to inform assumptions towards a more probabilistic approach in planning;making continuous enhancement towards real-time end-to-end S&OP processes, including the establishment of fit-for-purpose performance dashboards;
facilitate effective, data-driven decision-making through visualisation of risks and opportunities to a wider audience.
