As the Security & Market Safety Manager, you will be in charge of the organisation and all related activities within an affiliate and act as the primary point of contact and counselor to affiliate (commercial & manufacturing management) for Security & Market Safety issues and/or initiatives. Plan, implement, be responsible for and supervise the requirements of security and market/fleet safety programs to address and mitigate all security and safety risks to people and reputation.
Reduce or eliminate fleet-related crashes, injuries, fatalities, security losses, and property damage. To avoid business disruption and align with relevant local legislation, PMI Principles & Practice, standards, procedures, and guidelines, ensure that all risk mitigation plans and emergency response procedures are implemented, trained, and kept up to date.
Your “day to day”
Management and Leadership
Be responsible for executing the corporate strategy and objectives while leading the local Security & Market Safety organisation. Lead the local Security and Market Safety organisation; cascade Corporate objectives; and establish personal goals. Conduct a mid-year and annual performance review of MAP.
Ensure that the local Security & Market Safety organisation has the necessary skills and training to perform its duties. Develop direct reports’ skills and capabilities through regular coaching and mentoring to raise the essential skills and knowledge in the affiliate Security & Market Safety organisation.
Assess emerging business and operational models for potential Security & Market Safety risk exposure and gaps; discuss risks/vulnerabilities with affiliate management, the Senior Manager, Security & Market Safety, and other Security & Market Safety collaborators. Identify and resolve issues related to security and market safety within the affiliate.
Engage with all employees up to the senior leadership team to create ownership for fleet safety programs; collaborate with the sales department, working tool, and benefit car drivers in program development to ensure that fleet safety standards are understood and adhered to programAt the affiliate level, perform/conduct operational security and market/fleet safety risk assessments and reviews; identify and address risks and non-conformities. Respond to and report Security & Market Safety incidents per the Program’s requirements. Conduct root cause analyses and security or safety investigations and implement and validate corrective action measures.
In assigned markets, supervise the implementation of PMI market and fleet safety strategies and standard methodologies. Implement a local fleet safety program based on the Company’s Fleet Safety standard, and strive for continuous improvement to protect people from injury and fleet damage. Annual health checks are performed to ensure that local businesses are entirely in sync with PMI Security & Market Safety and local safety regulatory requirements. Create, implement, train for, and maintain updated protective measures, contingency plans, and emergency response procedures.
Training Strategy
Organize and deliver security, market safety, and fleet safety training programs to all local staff following PMI and local regulatory requirements to build a robust and sustainable Security & Market Safety culture within the market/affiliate. Experienced advice on tactical and practical emergency response management should be provided to local control.
Ensure that relevant communication with employees is established through regular functional meetings, including security/safety briefs, alerts, instructions, and refreshers. Introduce and maintain current training records per PMI requirements and applicable OHS and Fleet Safety legislation. Organize and deliver specialised training (defensive driving, for example) to ensure that the Company’s drivers have the necessary skills and competencies.
Budgeting and cost control
Perform an annual “Zero Based Budget” and contribute to organisation budget central revisions. Ensure effective budget management by regularly implementing proper planning, analysis, and spending monitoring. Encourage the team to come up with productivity and cost-cutting ideas.
Performance Evaluation and Reporting
Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of Security and Market Safety-related incident and event reporting requirements. Review and consolidate related metrics to provide focused and detailed reports; intensify trends and critical issues to appropriate levels of management.
Vehicle selection process
Provide guidance and requirements to the vehicle selection process by implementing fleet safety minimum requirements to ensure that the correct standard of vehicles is procured in line with PMI Fleet Safety requirements.
Providers of Third-Party Services
In collaboration with procurement and the Senior or Cluster Security & Market Safety Manager, select, appoint, and manage local third-party service providers. Ensure that third-party service providers’ performance consistently meets all PMI requirements and standards by developing a comprehensive KPI measurement and monitoring system, regular performance reviews, and an effective reward/penalty mechanism while maintaining effective coordination.
We’re looking for the following people:
- University degree or equivalent
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in corporate security management, preferably as a country security/safety manager or equivalent.
- Professional certifications in security risk management and/or OHS -In-depth knowledge of specialist security systems and market safety tools, as well as hands-on experience dealing with national and international security issues
- It is advantageous to have a working knowledge of OHS standard methodologies
- A striking ability to convert entrepreneurial behaviour within a changing and international company environment – Strong problem-solving and organisational skills combined with confirmed leadership abilities
- Proven ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organisation
- Proven track record of being proactive and seizing opportunities
- Demonstrated agility in evolving in complex matrix organisations
- Fluent in both written and spoken English
