We’re looking for an experienced Account Manager to join our Sales team for South Africa.

As an Account Manager you will play a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious customer acquisition, retention and revenue growth objectives. You will be the person in charge of managing a company’s relationships with its customers – in charge of building long-term relationships with a group of customers and generally stay with customers for the length of their relationship with the company.

Your goal is to keep clients or accounts as long as possible and to grow Peach’s share-of-volume. You also may be in charge of finding new business, be assigned prospects, given accounts, or a combination thereof. Tasks may involve project management, strategic planning, data analysis, sales support, product design, service application, logistics, and marketing.


  • Generate sales among client accounts, including upselling and cross-selling
  • Operate as the point of contact for assigned customers
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with accounts
  • Make sure clients receive requested products and services in a timely fashion
  • Communicate client needs and demands within the appropriate internal teams
  • Forecast and track client account metrics
  • Analyse client data, draw insights, suggest actions for improvements, and present to client
  • Manage projects within client relationships, working to carry out client goals while meeting company goals
  • Identify opportunities to grow business with existing clients
  • Coordinate with staff members working on the same account to ensure consistent service
  • Collaborate with sales team to reach prospective clients
  • Service multiple clients concurrently, often meeting deadlines
  • Keep records of client transactions
  • 40% of your time will be spent on managing and nurturing the existing merchants in our portfolio including up- and cross-selling to them
  • 30% of your time will be spent on project managing the go live projects for new enterprise clients
  • 20% of your time will be spent in finding new business opportunities
  • 10% of your time will be spent in pipeline management

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • 7-9 years experience in customer/client-facing role, with a track record of top performance.
  • Strong e-commerce and / or online payments understanding
  • Ability to understand the Peach Payments API and build great relationships with highly technical customers.
  • Ability to understand complex enterprise requirements and craft custom solutions.
  • Ability to operate in a highly ambiguous and fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated passion for the start-up community and new technology businesses.
