Credit Risk And Restructuring Officer Jobs in Johannesburg

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

The incumbentis expected to deliver on the following detailed key performance areas:

1. CREDIT RISK

a) Conduct thorough analysis of financial statements and assessment of credit requests, including new requests, changed requests, refinancing and due diligence

b) Provide recommendations tied to analysis and assessment of credit risk

c) Present analysis, findings, and recommendations to managers, especially findings that involve a borrower’s ability to repay

d) Keep up to date with the company’s lending protocols

e) Reconcile credit files and identify discrepancies and variances

f) Develop and prepare spreadsheets and models to support analysis of new and existing credit applications

g) Review and update of Credit Risk Related policies and SOPs

2. RESTRUCTURING

a) Ensure that all high-risk loans are categorised as follows:

1. Collection

2. Restructured

3. Handed over

4. Write off

b) Where a loan becomes high-risk (in arrears over 120 days), other than through a voluntary restructuring, a recommendation regarding the way forward resulting from consultation with the client.

c) Any non-performing client who does not respond to communication around restructuring within 1 month shall be issued a letter of demand within a week thereafter.

d) Should no adequate response be received in the time allowed in the letter of demand, a request to issue summons should be provided to the Legal Department within 5 working days.

e) Analyses financial statements to develop initial assessment by identifying strengths and weakness pertaining to borrower’s historical performance with a view to how to turn the default around.

f) Provide written analysis and recommendations that includes a list of strengths and weaknesses of the client as well as ways to resolve these.

g) Assess quality of applications – restructuring proposals, when submitted for review.

h) Ensure restructuring agreements correctly executed.

i) Generate monthly and quarterly performance reports on progress towards restructuring.

j) Generate monthly and quarterly performance reports on compliance with restructured arrangements.

3. Ad – Hoc Duties

a) Assignments from:

  • Chief Executive Officer
  • Chief Financial Officer
  • Executive Corporate Services
  • Chief Investment and Development Officer
  • Audit and Risk Committee
  • And any other request that may be requested from time to time

4. Teamwork

a) Ability to work closely with others

b) Being pro-active in assisting others

c) Contribution to projects meetings and brain storming sessions

d) Mentoring and coaching of staff and interns

e) Liaising with various internal departments for smooth and quick turnaround times

APPOINTMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of an appropriate recognised Degree or Diploma in Finance, Economics, Business Management, Banking or any other related field will be considered an advantage
  • More than 5 years previous experience in rental residential property sector is a must.
  • Analytical and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and high degree of personal initiative
  • Competency in MS Office and relevant databases and software
  • Customer focus and bottom-line orientation
  • Well organized with excellent time management skills
