5th Dimension Consulting Head: Finance – (EE) Vacancies Description?

Seeking a qualified CA (SA) for a Head of Finance position in Cape Town, preferably an EE candidate and someone with 7+ years’ experience as Head of Finance within a large Corporate.

Job Role

Reporting to the CFO, you will do Financial Analysis and Planning.
Gauge the business units overall financial health in relation to its inputs and outputs, using financial tools and techniques.
Create, update, and maintain financial models and detailed forecasts of the company’s future operations.
Compare historical results against budgets and forecasts.
Perform variance analysis to explain differences in performance and make improvements going forward, but using various techniques as the business changes (product shift, sales agency shifts, support changes).
Consider opportunities for the business to expand or grow.
Advise on Technology investment and business cases by performing financial evaluation base analysis like IRR, Return on Investment, DCF and sensitivity analysis through understanding financial appetite and cost of capital principles.
Map out growth plans, including capital expenditures and investments, and generate three- to five-year financial forecasts.
Define financial requirements against business goals and objectives.
Provide a strategic roadmap to support the budgeting process.
Forecast estimates for the predicted use of financial resources against the budgeted financial resources during a given fiscal year or period.
Through the deep understanding of key business drivers allocate budgets to specific accounts and guide on areas of cost contraction to still meet business objectives.
Identify improvement in sales support structure by evaluation of the actual use of financial resources against the approved budget and identify variances and financial ratios.
Adjust the approved budget under directives from appropriate management and/or in response to variances between planned and actual expenditures.
Report findings and action taken to the appropriate authorities.
Evaluate and analyze findings and explore options for corrective action.
Join financial and non-financial data to draw insights and define future financial plans.
Utilize own report writing skills towards board and executive packs in informing and guiding management decisions.
Ability to critically evaluate and understand financial controls required for key systems implementation, and plan, build and test towards the desired outcome to maintain the financial control environment.
Understanding of regulatory change and key IFRS standards.
Liaison with internal, external audit and other assurance providers on the audits and the financial and risk management control environment.

Qualifications

Qualified CA (SA)

Experience

7+ years’ experience as Head of Finance within a large corporate.
5+ years’ experience in leading and managing a Finance team.
Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development.
SAP or any other ERP experience.

Skills/ Knowledge

Sound financial accounting knowledge.
Business writing with reference to reports and policies.
